SAPPI recently treated their female workforce to a Women’s Day event of motivational and health talks at SAPPI Stanger. This was followed by a delicious spread of eats and refreshments.
Kicking off the event, SAPPI’s general manager, Bev Sukhdeo, explained they wanted to show the women how much they are appreciated.
“Women are not great at accepting compliments, however, we need to build ourselves, and each other up, and be proud of who we are and what we achieve, both in the work place and at home,” said Sukhedo.
Other speakers were Indrani Govender from RICINZ Construction, Rhamba Hira from Natural Therapeutic Clinic and Glenda Thompson from Hirsch’s.
Jenny Russell, Branch Manager of Diabetes South Africa, accepted a cheque for R10,000 that was presented by Sukhedo, on behalf of SAPPI, in recognition of the voluntary work carried out by Diabetes South Africa for the staff at SAPPI.
