Weekend crime report

A woman was abducted and raped by a man in Shakashead.

Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes last weekend:

· On Friday a White Ford Figo was stolen at the Surfers Beach in Ballito while the owner went surfing. He put his car keys into a bag and buried it on the soil and when he came back, he found the bag but the keys were missing and his car gone.

· Two people parked their cars in the designated parking lot at the Sun in Surf parking and when they woke up on Friday, the two left tyres of one vehicle and three of the other had been deflated.

· On Saturday a Ballito resident woke up to find someone inside his house taking her belonging and handing it over to someone outside.

· A Ballito resident found a window of his house forced open and items valued at R25 800 stolen.

· A white Ford Fiesta registration number NT 61300 at Hewitt Road in Salt Rock was stolen while the owner was out at the beach.

· Copper piping valued at R500 was stolen from a house in Sandra Road.

· On Saturday a woman in Shakashead was abducted and raped by a man until Sunday morning.

· At Shakaskraal a family discovered the door of their garage forced opened and items valued at R6700 were stolen.

· On Saturday at the cemetery lane in Shakaskraal a man was stabbed in the chest and his car was damaged.

· An Etete resident was allegedly assaulted by her son on Saturday. The son was demanding money and attempted to strangle her.

· In Esenembe at Nohari Farm, a man found the door of his house forced open and items valued at R300 000 were stolen.

Due to renovations they are temporarily relocating the charge office and as a result one phone line is working. Colonel Dieter Fittkau urged residents to be patient and call back if the line is busy. He also urged residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going out the beach. Business owners are also encouraged to improve the standard of security as the festive season is around the corner. Contact Umhlali SAPS on 032-9479900.
