Ballito residents held up at knife point
Owners of Gianni's Ristorante robbed and assaulted.
Prominent Ballito restaurant owners John and Cheryl Coburn were attacked by armed robbers in their home on Stella Road on Sunday night.
Three confirmed, possibly four, men tied up the Coburns and assaulted John.
“They held knives to our throats,” said John.
One of the robbers was arrested.
The couple, who are well known through their restaurant Gianni’s Ristorante, were overwhelmed by the support from the community.
“Security company Chubb, the police and the paramedics from Netcare were all unbelievably wonderful,” said John.
A Courier journalist will be meeting with John and Cheryl today for the full story.
