Avis has generously sponsored a car to the Ilembe Chamber of Commerce’s business support centre.
Business support staff will use the vehicle to serve the business communities in the four local municipalities within the Ilembe district. They are Ndwedwe, Maphumulo, KwaDukuza and Mandeni.
“Avis is a long standing corporate member of the Ilembe Chamber and through the availability of the sponsored vehicle Avis will further extend its involvement in developing smaller businesses which operate within the informal economies of rural areas,” said Ilembe chamber CEO Cobus Oelofse.
He said the slogan displayed on the vehicle “Driving Business Together” could not have been more appropriate and reflected the passion of both Avis and the Chamber.
Oelofse said the vehicle sponsorship was yet another symbol of the commitment and involvement of Avis with the local business community in the Ilembe district.
The Chamber’s Business Support Centre Outreach programme, together with the local economic development departments of the various local municipalities, implements workshops, seminars, business clinics and one-on-one sessions to remote businesses.
“At Avis we acknowledge the great work that the Ilembe Chamber does for the KZN community and feel honoured to be assisting in making a difference,” said Keith Rankin, Avis Southern Africa chief executive.
