New name is ‘Insync’ with the community

Lighthouse Family Church has changed its name to Insync Community Church ‘Hedge of Grace’.

After 14 years in Ballito, the church leadership felt it was time to make a name change relevant to its mandate for the community.

The church’s name officially changed on January 25.

“Our household is about relationship, purpose and edification and our name needs to reflect that,” said Insync senior pastor Johan Lombard.

He said the first part of the name, Insync, refers to synergy.

“Our household is a place where the sum total of everything is greater than the sum total of the individual. It is about the concept of being synchronised with purpose and destiny.”

He said they have a holistic approach to life and believe that we can only truly reach our full potential when things are in sync.

The Hedge of Grace he said points to God’s grace that is sufficient. In the Greek translation of the Bible, ‘sufficient’ translates as ‘hedge of grace’.

“Those who come into our midst exchange their weakness for God’s strength. We practice the principle of synergy in an environment of grace.”

Lombard said the church’s family culture is what defines them and their people love life.

“We focus on the Word and strive to live supernaturally natural.”

Lombard said they envision building a trans generational church that can stand at least a hundred years and that requires their foundation to be right.

“We need to raise up people who can accurately transmit what is in our hearts to the next generations.”
