Police investigating property group for fraud

Family hit by holiday accommodation scam.

KZN SAPS is appealing for anyone who has been scammed by a company called Queen Estate Properties to come forward.

Police are investigating a case of fraud, after a resident was scammed by the company for accommodation in Cape Town.

“It is alleged that the victim saw an advert by Queen Estate Properties for accommodation in Cape Town during October 2014.

Arrangements were made online and the victim paid the required amount to secure the accommodation.

On December 20 last year, the victim and his family went to Cape Town for a holiday knowing that they had secured accommodation,” said KZN Spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker.

On arrival at the address given to the resident, he found the premises locked and it was under renovation.

The premises do not belong to Queen Estate Properties.

A case of fraud was opened at Pinetown Police Station after he returned back from Cape Town.

Any other person that may have been scammed in a similar manner is requested to contact provincial detectives, lieutenant Colonel Rajak on 031 325 4726 or detective warrant officer Govender on 0795000763.
