Load shedding in stage one
After being spared for most of the day, Eskom will be implementing load shedding tonight.
Eskom has announced that load shedding in stage one will be implemented from 5pm to 10pm tonight.
The power utility planned to start rolling blackouts this morning at 10am, but thanks to consumers switching off and saving power, it was not necessary.
The system is however severely constrained with Eskom’s Unit 1 at Koeberg taken offline after a technical fault.
