Ashton scores top marks in Cambridge exams
Ashton pupils score 100% pass rate on external exams.
Ashton continued on their streak of excellence as the form three students, who wrote the Cambridge International IGCSE examination at the end of 2014, as well as the form four pupils who wrote elective subjects on AS levels, received their final results.
The students were rewarded with a 100% pass rate, and following on the success of the 2014 matric results, it was another day of celebration at Ashton.
Twenty three candidates wrote the external Cambridge International IGCSE examination and achieved 71 distinctions in total.
“The Cambridge International Examinations are marked in the United Kingdom, and were written by the students in October and November 2014,” said the school’s executive head Joe Erasmus.
The Cambridge IGCSE certificate is an internationally recognised qualification equivalent to matric in the UK.
Pupils who wrote the AS level examinations, were rewarded with a 100% pass rate, with the top student being Tenille Webster who achieved two distinctions in her nominated three subjects.
