A snowy summer
Drakensberg locals woke up on February 2 to find snow in their backyard!
Drakensberg locals woke up to a chilly day on Monday morning and were greeted by a winter wonderland outside.
At the beginning of February, when we are meant to be sweating and swimming, the berg went from green to white in one day.
Chef and duty manager at Tenahead Mountain Reserve in the Drakensberg, Heinricht Schoultz could not believe his eyes when he looked out the window.
“I woke up at about 5am and saw the snow outside and I was so excited, ” he said.
He said it was about -4 degrees that morning, but the sun came out during the day and it warmed up to a comfortable 18 degrees, and sadly melted all the snow.
Better get ready for winter, if it is already snowing in summer!
