Stanger Secondary awards top achievers
Highest achievers acknowledged and special awards given.
Stanger Secondary School held their awards evening on Friday, January 30 to recognize the highest achievers of every grade.
Iqbal Moolla, a former pupil of the school was the guest of honour for the evening.
Moolla had facilitated the sponsorship of a state-of-the-art IT Centre for the school through the Telkom Foundation. This enabled the school to re-introduce information technology into its curriculum.
This year will see the school produce its first matric class of IT since the partnership with Telkom began.
The highest achievers at Stanger Secondary were Shaleena Dunpall in grade eight, Nosipho Samkeliswe Mthembu in grade nine, Sabeeha Kallan in grade ten and Mahesh Naidoo in grade eleven.
In matric Dineo Lee Ann Cindi, Deleen Singh and dux, Thandeka Rebecca Dladla were the top of their class.
A special award was presented to Shalen de Marco Kuppasamy who placed in the top 30 of KZN for mechanical technology and achieved the highest mark in the Ilembe district for this subject.
