Eskom will start load shedding in stage two on Friday from 8am to 10pm tonight.
In their weekly status bulletin Eskom said the system is severely volatile.
Unit 1 of the Koeberg power station, which was taken out of service due to a technical fault on the main generator transformer, is expected to return to service this evening.
“Forecast for this week indicates that the system will remain extremely constrained and any extra load or faults in the system may necessitate the need to go into load shedding. We will keep the customers updated on the state of the electricity system,” said Eskom in a statement.
According to Eskom’s stage two load shedding schedule for Ballito, lights will go out from 2pm to 4pm.
