Marsh condemns Ballito apathy

Dismal turnout at meeting with municipal officials.

Ward six councillor, Colin Marsh is fuming after the dismal community turnout at the KwaDukuza municipality integrated development programme consultation meeting on Thursday night, April 9.

“I am disgusted at the 6 800 registered voters in ward six that have not got the time and courtesy to show up for an important meeting,” said Marsh.

Only one member of the public arrived while officials from KDM, Ilembe district municipality and Sembcorp Siza Water were ready to answer questions.

“The community must not complain to me if they are going to be that apathetic,” said Marsh.

The meeting was advertised in the Courier on April 3 along with the meeting dates and venues for all other wards in the district.
