In light of xenophobic attacks in the province, foreign shop owners closed for safety reasons.

On Tuesday night, the threat of xenophobic attacks in Shaka’s Head put the foreigners in the area on high alert.
Some shop owners decided to close their shops as a precaution, if more violence were to erupt.
The police are investigating the possibility that opportunistic criminals in Shaka’s Head are using the xenophobic violence in Durban as an excuse to commit crimes in the area.
