Concrete truck rolls in Seaward Estate
Driver and passenger acted swiftly and jumped out of the truck.
A concrete truck rolled down an embankment where construction was taking place in Seaward Estates, Ballito this afternoon.
Paul Herbst from IPSS Medical Rescue said the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and they transported him to hospital.
Jason Chapman from Chapman Buildings who are building on that road said there was no structural collapse in the road.
“The truck went over the side of the road and when the driver realised what was happening, he and the passenger jumped out of the moving vehicle which rolled down the embankment,” said Chapman.
The truck came to a standstill in a resident’s property, but luckily there was no damage to the house.
“The driver acted quickly to jump out and luckily no one got seriously injured, but we did close the site for safety reasons,” said Chapman.
