Goodbye after 38 years of service
Warrant officer Harry Khanjan from Tongaat SAPS retires.
After 38 years of dedicated and loyal service in the police force, Warrant Officer Harry Khanjan from Tongaat SAPS has retired.
Khanjan started in the police on August 22 in 1977, training at Essen Park, in Gauteng.
From his college days up until 1983, Khanjan worked at SAPS Point and was later transferred to Maydon Wharf until 1986.
After working at Durban Central in the Crime Prevention Unit for some time, Khanjan returned to the Maydon Wharf station from 1990 to 2001.
In 2001 he joined Tongaat SAPS and worked in Crime Prevention, Logistics and later Crime Intelligence.
Khanjan was a dedicated member of the service and a no nonsense person, always eager to assist and very fit for his age!
He also did not hesitate to get involved in any sporting activities planned at the station.
Tongaat station commander Col Santha Moodley said he will be missed by management and staff alike.
“You have run the race and ended which not many of us may reach. Some would leave before or even pass on, but to Harry, it is your well deserved time with your family that you need to enjoy and treasure. We will miss you,” said Moodley.
