Tanker fire closes N2 near Durban

Fuel spill ran down highway causing a massive blaze.

The N2 near the Sarnia road bridge, south of Durban was closed in both directions after two fuel tankers reportedly collided and caused a massive blaze on the highway.

KZN EMS said the incident resulted in a fuel spill which caught alight.

It resulted in a massive fire running down the highway.

The KZN EMS paramedics on scene have reported that the two people are being treated for minor injuries.

Ethekwini fire and rescue fighters managed to control the fire.

Traffic is diverted at the M7 south bound and M1 north bound.

The police will investigate the cause of the crash.
