One killed in Shakaskraal taxi accident

Taxi driver was ejected from his vehicle.

A taxi and a light motor vehicle crashed on the R102 in Shakaskraal on Sunday morning, killing one person and injuring two others.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha, paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the taxi driver had been ejected from the crumpled remains of his vehicle.

“He died due to the extensive injuries that he sustained,”said Botha.

A passenger of the taxi also sustained serious injuries while one other person escaped with minor injuries.

After medics had treated the injured they transported them to various local hospitals for the care that they required.
