A spoil for local nannies
Women give thanks to their fellow women who always help them out.
Sixty local nannies were treated to hand massages, a delicious tea and talks on finance and beauty at the Nanny Appreciation Tea at Burndale last Friday.
Guest speaker Grant Slevin from the Robert Group gave practical financial advice, with pointers on how to create a budget.
Vivienne Venter from Colour Works International encouraged the women with a talk on self worth.
Each nanny also received a rose with a message of thanks from their employer.
Organiser Chantel Robert, who runs The Nanny Course at Burndale, said she started the appreciation tea last year when she had wanted to bless her own child’s nanny on her birthday.
“My nanny was not comfortable going to a restaurant so I decided to create an event which she could really enjoy.
Our nannies play such a vital role in each of our our families and from what I have learned through my years of teaching on the nanny course, they do not know how valuable they are to each of us and I am sure that even though this is a small gesture, they will leave feeling valuable and treasured,” said Robert.
