Blood drive aims to break record

Join the community to donate 50 pints of blood this Friday.

Netcare Alberlito is hosting a Blood Drive this Friday, October 2 and they are aiming to break the record of pints donated on the day.

At the previous blood drive in June, 38 pints of blood were donated. This time, they are asking the help from the community to collect 50 pints of blood. With the holiday season approaching, the demand for blood is very high.

It is especially important for people with the blood group O to donate, because their blood can be used for all blood types.

It is crucial to replenish blood stocks regularly, since blood only has a shelf life of 42 days.

If you are older than 16, weigh more than 50kg, are in good health and leading a sexually healthy lifestyle, then you can donate blood.

Get to Netcare Alberlito this Friday from 9am to 3pm, donate blood and save a life. Contact 032-9466700 for more information.
