Bursaries awarded as part of World Maritime Celebrations

Three pupils get R15 000 to help with tuition fees.

Three deserving candidates were awarded bursaries to the value of R15 000 each by Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) during the World Maritime Celebrations that took place between September 21 and 23.

“As a company, we are passionate about empowerment, through education and training. We are delighted to be able to help these hardworking students with their tuition and are confident that they will put their education to good use in becoming the future leaders of South Africa,” said TPT’s Karl Socikwa.

Siyabonga Ndlovu from KwaNxusa High School, Khayisile Biyela from Njingili High School and Sikhumbuzo Sangweni from Nkosithandile High School were presented with the bursaries as part of the Port Festival hosted by Transnet Ports Authority in Richards Bay.

The objective is to identify key talent and assist in developing their skills and empowering them to achieve their potential.
