October calls for potjies and black ties, as Miss Ballito contestants tackle the last hurdle before the glamorous finish line.

Join the seven Miss Ballito finalists for the Potjie Cook Off at 11am at Cane Cutters Resort on October 17 for a fun, family afternoon of good food, rugby on the big screen and of course a cash bar.

Entry fee for contestants is R100, while supporters pay R20 per person.

Next up, is the grand finale that everyone has been waiting for, which will see one finalist walking away with the fabulous crown.

Finalist Nonhlanhla Khanyile is amazed that it is already time for the crowning, but also so excited for the special occasion.

“I am extremely excited for the crowning evening and a little bit sad, because it will be our last day together as contestants,” said Khanyile.

She said who ever wins deserves it and the most important thing for her is to enjoy the evening and make the best of it.

Fellow finalists, Khanyisile Zondo said she feels excited and scared at the same time when she thinks about the crowning evening.

“I am excited that the day is finally around the corner and I will finally get to grace the stage with a beautiful gown,” said Zondo.

“The scary part is that only one person will walk away with the coveted title, but whatever happens, we have all already won from the experience and skills we have been taught throughout our Miss Ballito journey.”

The elegant, black tie event will be held at Collisheen Estate on October 23 and tickets cost R350.

All the proceeds from Miss Ballito go towards supporting deserving local charities.
