High risk of load shedding

Shortage of generation capacity.

Eskom warned this morning that the probability for load shedding is high from 6am to 10pm.

This is due to a shortage of generation capacity as some of their generating units tripped on Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Eskom has not implemented load shedding for the past 61 days, except for two hours and 20 minutes.

With the high temperatures being experienced, Eskom urges consumers to consider energy efficient ways to keep cool.

* Keep blinds closed to block out direct sunlight

* Only use the air conditioner when the room is occupied

* Set the air conditioner to 23 degrees and close windows when the air con is in use
