Weekend crime report

Child raped in Upper Tongaat.

Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes last weekend:

* A child was allegedly raped in Lina Compound, Upper Tongaat on Friday afternoon.

* A woman was held up at knife point and her cell phone was taken in Etete on Saturday.

* A house was broken into in Shayamoya on Saturday. Items valued at R6420 were stolen.

* A man was robbed in Shakaskraal on Saturday. He was pulled out of his car by a group of man and they took R2000.

* A man was stabbed on School Road in Shakaskraal on Saturday. He was taken to Stanger Hospital.

* Groceries were stolen out of a truck on the R102 in Shakaskraal on Sunday.

* A case of attempted rape was opened on Sunday. Apparently a seven-year-old girl was sleeping at her mother’s home in the Umthobisa area, Upper Tongaat, when a man who is known to the family, allegedly tried to rape the girl. She shouted for help calling her granny. The man ran away.
