Blazer glory for Salt Rock girl

Schaap is the first to receive the coveted white blazer in 13 years.

This has been a momentous year in the life of Durban Girls College (DGC) grade 12 pupil and Salt Rock resident, Amy Schaap, who recently achieved one of her school’s greatest honours.

The young North Coaster was awarded a prestigious white blazer in recognition of her outstanding achievements in academics, sport and service.

On hand to present her with her blazer was the previous recipient of this honour, Sarah Pudifin-Jones, who received her blazer in 2002.

“The school community is enormously proud of Amy,” said DGC marketing director, Lynne Neilson, who added that Schaap is the first to receive the coveted white blazer in 13 years.
