VIDEO: Protesters set Cllr Banda’s house and car alight
Protesters riot in the street stoning police.
The protesters who closed the N2 and R102 with burning tyres and tree branches have set fire to ward four councillor Jetro Banda‘s home and car in the township.
Banda has reportedly been taken to safety while hundreds of people are continuing to riot through the township, stoning police and attempting to push their way back onto the highway according to Umhlali SAPS spokesperson Vinny Pillay.
The video shows the burning building and vehicle in Shakas Head.
