A gala dinner of greats

The chamber has secured the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Tokozile Xasa, as the guest speaker at the dinner.

Time to dust off your bowtie and take out the evening gown as the Ilembe Chamber of Commerce will be presenting the premier gala dinner in the district’s business calendar at the Fairmont Zimbali Lodge and Resort Hotel on May 10.

The formalities of the evening will be preceded by wine tasting, hosted by Meridian Wines, and live music entertainment which will kick off from 6pm.

Nedbank will, for the second year, be a significant sponsor for the 2016 event, joined this year by Vodacom.

Nedbank Limited area manager sales, Garth Naude said Nedbank is proud to partner with the Ilembe Chamber of Commerce in unlocking business and economic growth in the area.

“We recognise the relevance as well as the critical role the Ilembe Chamber plays primarily in supporting the regional economy by showcasing the area as a great place to invest across all sectors. Nedbank remains committed to partnering with our clients and key stakeholders to grow businesses for the greater good of South Africa,” said Naude.

“Nedbank’s continued support for the annual gala dinner is seen as vitally important, as together with leading business people and industry leaders, we are confident of making a change to the larger community.”

Although the regional economy is dominated by the agricultural and agricultural processing sectors, tourism is what the KZN North Coast is renowned for.

The Ilembe Chamber, through its Tourism Forum, is also working with the four tourist ready golf courses, Zimbali, Simbithi, Umhlali Country Club and Princes Grant, and Mike McNamara’s Golf KZN, to enhance the marketing of the region as a significant golf tourism destination.

In support of this significant industry, the chamber has secured the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Tokozile Xasa, as the guest speaker at the dinner. The gala dinner is a day after the last day of the Tourism Indaba and thus complements these chamber strategic priorities and activities around tourism.
