Mother’s day tragedy on the N2

Local rescue services responded to at least 13 accidents on May 8 alone.

Two people were killed and four others critically injured when a mini-bus taxi and light motor vehicle collided head-on near bridge 12 on the N2 last night.

Paramedics, police and other rescue services reported to the accident to find that the driver of the taxi was entrapped in the wreckage and required advanced life support intervention before being removed.

Despite the efforts of the paramedics the driver passed away at the accident scene.
