An unconventional fundraising approach came into play at Umhali preparatory when a bet was made at a golf day for Nick Jorden and Guy Heenan from Living Earth to offload top soil onto the school grounds in only their speedos.
Never being ones to shy away from a challenge, the unstoppable duo lived up to their word and bravely offloaded three tons of top soil onto the school ground.
David Wise and Tony Matkovich who bought the soil that was on auction at the fund-raiser agreed to add a premium if the two fathers “put on a show.”
”The top soil was needed to maintain the school ground, we agreed to buy it and add an additional R1500 if it was offloaded by the men wearing nothing but their speedos,” said Matkovich.
