Protestors attack Shaka’s Head electrical technicians

The main feeder cable has been repaired and power should be restored gradually.

Power was restored in Shaka’s Head at about 9.45pm yet the protest has continued raging on the N2, spilling over to the R102.

While the exact details remain sketchy, IPSS paramedic Paul Herbst said the mob was stoning police vehicles and attempting to attack KwaDukuza technicians who have been working since Friday to restore power.

Public Order Policing are traveling from Empangeni to restore order.

K.R.A.M. (Pty) Ltd posted the following message at about 10pm on their Facebook page: “We thank those off you your supported us and have been patient glad to let you all know the main feeder cable has been repaired and tested as well as passed and is back on power should be restored gradually regards KRAM POWER.”
