A little kindness goes a long way at Eat Local restaurant – Ballito

Sue Sugrue said the team at Eat Local had restored her faith in mankind.

When European tourist Sue Sugrue lost her iPhone on Saturday she thought it would lead to a long road of endless attempts to get it replaced.

A nightmare for someone in a different country.

To her relief she called Eat Local restaurant, the last place she had visited and was ecstatic to hear that the waiter Derek Mtuli had found the phone on the floor and handed it in.

“You hear so many terrible stories about South Africa but there are some honest people around. It is only when you lose your phone that you realise how dependent you are on it.”

Sugrue said the team at Eat Local had restored her faith in mankind.

“It was not only the expense of replacing the phone but everything else that goes along with it. Thank you Derek for your honesty and integrity.”
