Good things to come at Alberlito hospital
The new addition to the Netcare Alberlito family has some exciting plans in store
Having traveled to 86 countries the charismatic Dr Augusta Dorning is resting her wings at Netcare Alberlito Hospital as the new general manager, aiming to make the hospital the best on the North Coast.
With a passion for health care, Dorning was a member of the senior leadership team of the KZN health department until 2002. She has since added Deloitte and St Mary’s Hospital to her resume before bringing her knowledge and expertise to Alberlito hospital from December last year.
Excited and ready for the new year she said she planned to introduce a few changes to the hospital.
“I will be enhancing all front line services as well as patient experience. The casualty service will be improved as will extended visiting hours.
“Visiting hours will be from 11am until 8pm daily. All visitors to the hospital will be entitled to an hours free parking.
“The hospital has already received a face lift and further aesthetic enhancements will follow. Our hospitality services are already being improved and we are partnering with leading providers in our region to enhance the competencies of our support staff.”
The busy wife and author said she is grateful to be in a position that allows her to serve and develop people’s talents. To maintain a balance on her personal and professional life, Dorning said she meditates every morning and reads as a way to relax.
“I enjoy walking on the beach and doing Pilates. One of my hobbies is travelling and my husband and I regularly tour South Africa. I also have two furry children, my cats Kallie and Squid.”
Having published one book, the dynamic woman of many talents is currently writing her second book titled “Visualisation for Professionals – developing goals beyond the obvious.”
Her goals are to contribute financially and mentor girls who cannot afford to further their studies
“Woman need to be encouraged to believe in themselves and to always put themselves first. Never be afraid to ask difficult questions. Stand by your values no matter how much resistance you encounter. Be aware of your personal brand and develop yourself daily. There is no substitute for hard work.”
