A fresh face for Grace

The current pastor, DJ Ewan, will be taking up the position of executive pastor within Grace Family Church

Grace Family Church Ballito is turning a new page in the story of God’s love and welcoming a new pastor to the fold.

Marc Porée and his wife, Mandy, are joining the Grace family and he delivered his first sermon on February 19.

Born in Durban, Marc grew up and went to school in Greytown. In 1992 he married Mandy and they have since had two wonderful children together, Emma and Caleb.

Between 1994 and 1996 Marc and Mandy spread the word of God as missionaries in northern Mozambique, before returning to South Africa and serving with Angus Buchan at Shalom Ministries. Marc and Mandy have since been leading the church at Shalom Ministries in Greytown.

With more than 14 years of experience in leading congregations, Marc said he is excited to embark on his next great adventure.

“I am looking forward to starting this next chapter in my life with Grace Family Church. I believe God is doing something wonderful here,” he said.

The couple told The Courier they were looking forward to building lasting relationships and celebrating the future with all their new friends.

“We want to present an honest picture,” said Mandy.

“We are not perfect, we are down to earth people who are looking forward to growing together with the congregation and taking the next step together.”

Marc said that he always knew he would spread the Word of God.

“From the day I encountered God and surrendered myself to Jesus, I knew it would be my place in the world to preach the gospel.”

Together, the Porées are keen to bring everything they have learnt together to live out the vision of Grace Family Church.

“We measure our success in our obedience to God,” said Porée.

Join them at Grace Family Church on the R102 Compensation, just outside Ballito on February 19 at 9:00am for Marc’s first sermon.

The current pastor, DJ Ewan, will be taking up the position of executive pastor within Grace Family Church – but he won’t be gone, as he still considers Ballito his home and the congregation his family.
