Hats off for KwaDukuza coppers

Staff from 10 stations in the KwaDukuza region came together for a day of fun and games at Stanger Recreational Grounds

The men and women in blue hung up their cuffs and firearms for some much-needed chill time in celebration of National Police Day last Wednesday.

Staff from 10 stations in the KwaDukuza region came together for a day of fun and games at Stanger Recreational Grounds.

Music and the smell of braai meat created the perfect atmosphere as the cops received much needed massages and caught up with old friends.

Officers showed that crime prevention is not their only talent as they displayed their sporting skills in heated – yet fun – games of netball and soccer.

Umhlali SAPS spokesperson, warrant officer Vinny Pillay, said the annual event is a time when everyone has the opportunity to come together and enjoy themselves.

“There are still staff who are on the ground attending to problems. The December period was very busy and we could not arrange for all of us to be together.”
