ECR distances themselves from viral #FreedomFriday WhatsApp message
The Durban based radio station posted an update on their Facebook page yesterday to confirm that the message is not true

A WhatsApp message warning of possible violence and encouraging people to stay in their homes on #FreedomFriday (tomorrow) is a hoax.

Ward 22 Councillor Malcolm Hubner stressed that the demonstration was not affiliated to any party and that there would be no marching or blocking of traffic.
As of this morning (Thursday) approval has still not been granted from municipality for the demonstration.
However, a meeting has been called by Umhlali SAPS with the KwaDukuza cluster for all stakeholders at 12 noon today to discuss the planned demonstration.
A spokesperson for the Umhlali SAPS, warrant officer Vinny Pillay told The Courier that they were aware of the possibility that the ANC may also want to demonstrate to show support for Zuma.
“Police will be there to keep the peace.
“We urge all people to remain calm during the demonstration and not to inflame the situation.”
