Armed gang hits Tiffany’s Cell C
Police believe that the robbers are operating as part of a syndicate.
A gang of four men armed with handguns held up Cell C at Tiffany’s Shopping Centre this morning (Sunday).
This is the second time in a year that the shop has been robbed by an armed gang.

According to Umhlali SAPS spokesperson Vinny Pillay four men pulled up to the centre at about 9.30am in two cars, a silver Mercedes and a silver Peugeot.
“One of the men entered the shop on his own. When the store manager came forward to help him, he pointed his gun at the manager’s head and forced him into the back room where the safe is held,”said Pillay.
“The rest of the attackers then came into the shop. One of them stayed near the door to keep a lookout while the other three were in the back room forcing the manager to open the safe.”
The men helped themselves to the contents of the safe and made off with an unknown number of cellphones.
It is believed that the men are operating as part of a syndicate, as the silver Mercedes has been involved in a number of armed robberies at cell shops in malls across the province.
Pillay appealed to the community to contact Umhlali SAPS if they have further information about the suspects or if they spot a silver Mercedes, registration ND292372 or a silver Peugeot, registration NO6494.

Meanwhile Tiffany’s Centre manager Nicky Vorster said that they were grateful nobody was hurt.
“The safety of our tenants and customers is paramount, this could have gone a lot worse and we’re thankful that it didn’t.”
