No more traumatic Ballito beach toilet trips
The UIP have been working on the toilets for about three weeks and have completed Salmon Bay, with Hawkins Road and Willard Beach nearly done
Gone are the days of holding your nose and fighting back the gag reflexes while tip toeing into the dreaded Ballito beach toilets, thanks to the UIP’s recent total revamp.
Ballito UIP precinct manager Thierry Leclezio said so far they have been working on the toilets for about three weeks and have completed Salmon Bay, with Hawkins Road and Willard Beach nearly done.
“The toilet facilities were given a coat of paint, new tiles, mirrors, new toilet seats and complete toilets where required, as well as fresh new signs and a few extras to improve the quality of the beach users’ experience.
“The toilets are now also locked between 6pm and 6am everyday,” said Leclezio.
To ensure the beaches are kept as hygienic as the new toilets, the UIP have also installed 16 dog-doo bag dispensers along the promenade with a litter bin near each dispenser.
“We urge dog owners to please make use of them and help keep the promenade clean. The UIP will manage the refilling of the bags so if you see any empty dispensers please notify us on 086 111 1588.”
The UIP is currently also working on upgrading some of the informal trade facilities on the promenade and have started with a deck outside Casablanca and paving with a garden outside La Ballito.
