WATCH: Heavy rains batter Dolphin Coast
A Chaka's Rock family has been left house bound after a mud slide passed through their home over the weekend
Heavy rainfall graced the North Coast this weekend, bringing with it both cooler weather as well as tragedy on the roads.
IPSS Medical Rescue responded to a total of 37 accidents with three fatalities and multiple injuries.

The wet weather also resulted in the closure of a number of Dolphin Coast beaches.
According to KwaDukuza lifeguard supervisor Bongani Xulu, the beaches are expected to reopen tomorrow earliest.
Rainfall figures
Rainfall measurements were very high and varied across KwaDukuza.
Ken Mann of Ballito measured 267mm between Friday and Sunday, while Neal Roberts of Foxhill measuring 180mm between Thursday at 6pm and this morning (Monday).
Other figures recorded at various times over the weekend included:
- King Shaka International Airport – 101.8mm
- Gledhow – 181mm
- Maidstone – 171.5mm
- Darnall – 242mm
- Mandeni – 133mm
- University of Zululand – 226.8mm
