Give a hoot for women and children in Ilembe

DAWN Ilembe will be holding their placard demonstration from 4pm to 6pm across from Tiffany's Superspar

The DA Women’s Network (DAWN) have been busy recently all across KZN and they are not slowing down anytime soon.

DAWN has rolled out a campaign to highlight the ongoing attacks on women and children in South Africa.

“We are doing placard demos on the last Friday of each month across the province to highlight this disturbing issue. The initial one will be held this Friday,” said DAWN’s Privi Naidoo.

DAWN Ilembe will be holding their placard demonstration from 4pm to 6pm across from Tiffany’s Superspar.

“We are urging people to look out for our blue team and give us a hoot or a wave.”

Meanwhile the ladies of the DA have also been highly involved in bringing a little dignity into the lives of schoolgirls in the district.

On Tuesday, May 23 they officially kick started their Dignity campaign at Esenembi High School.

Together with DAWN KZN leader Shehana Kajee, ward six councilor Tammy Colley and ward 22 councilor Malcolm Hubner they handed over almost 200 packs of sanitary pads to the girls.

They also stopped by Isiphumelelo Creche and earlier this month visited Qoqulwazi High School in Driefontein to hand out hygiene products.

“On behalf of DAWN KZN, I would like to thank every single sponsor for their generosity and appeal for further sponsorship so we can keep this project sustainable.”
