Painting Groutville RED
Keller Williams Zimbali visited Vulamehlo Hospice in Groutville as well as the Enduduzweni Drop In and Information Centre on RED day last week

Every year on the second Thursday in May, every Keller Williams market centre around the world closes its doors to help others on their RED day.
For their fourth RED Day experience, Keller Williams Zimbali visited Vulamehlo Hospice in Groutville as well as the Enduduzweni Drop In and Information Centre.
The Centre helps people who need health assistance, testing or counselling and also feeds and cares for 61 children.
Keller Williams Zimbali’s Beverley Gaul said besides a very long list of maintenance needs, both places were in an extremely desperate need of assistance, being virtually eaten away at a rapid rate by woodborers. Replacing the wooden flooring and ceilings was urgent as they were on the verge of collapse.
“We started fundraising initiatives through our exclusive Big Heart campaign and had about 40 people on site to help make this project a success,” said Gaul.
The following work was done to the hospice: interior and exterior painting, new door, toilets installed, ceilings replaced, a vegetable garden installed, blankets, rugs, bed linen, towels and a table and chair set donated as well as a tv, satellite dish and HD viewer decoder donated and installed.

The centre also got a complete paint job, new toilets, flooring was lifted and replaced, vegetable garden installed, plumbing was done so that the gas cylinders could be moved outside, a trampoline and basketball poles and hoops were installed, 60 pairs of red takkies and 61 pairs of new school shoes were donated.
“The hospice has also received and accepted a formal proposal from one of our clients, who is a doctor.
He will run his medical practice from their premises and also attend to the hospice patients free of charge.”
The team entertained and catered party treats and a jumping castle through the day for about 110 children.
A real treat was the siren – blazing arrival of the KwaDukuza Fire department, who provided a fun, interactive lesson in fire safety and precaution.
