Safety in numbers for Ballito
BNW has created street clusters and correspondent WhatsApp groups to enable all residents to communicate swiftly

The Ballito Neighbourhood Watch (BNW) has had great success of late dividing their area of coverage into clusters.
“Knowing your neighbours is the first step to a secure neighbourhood,” said chairman Gary Frances.
BNW has created street clusters and correspondent WhatsApp groups to enable all residents to communicate swiftly with other people in their immediate vicinity.
“Instead of wondering who to call in an emergency, members just report incidents on their cluster group and the cluster leader then passes it on, making it much more efficient ,” Frances told The Courier.
They are appealing to all residents of Ballito to join the neighbourhood watch and become active members of their cluster groups.
“You will not be asked to go on patrols or the like, and you won’t be woken up at 2am with messages originating 10km away that have no bearing on you.”
If you are not yet a member of the BNW, register on their website at www.ballitonw.org.za or send a WhatsApp to 062 019 5044 with your full name, street address and email address.
“What we do need,” said Frances, “are people willing to become cluster leaders and coordinate their street groups.”
