Don’t be a baby, do a burpee

Pulse Ballito managed to raise just over R47 000 at their Burpees4Babies challenge

Pulse Studio in Ballito came alive on Saturday as the Burpees4Babies challenges got underway.

The aim was to get sponsorship for every burpee you complete, with all the proceeds going towards buying nappies, baby food, formula and hygiene products for abandoned baby homes and creches across SA.

It was not just Pulse that undertook the challenge though as they were joined by gyms across the country with individual participants who took part in the UK and USA.

One of the disadvantaged babies paid a visit to Pulse to see the money being raised in the Burpies4Babies challenge.

Pulse Ballito managed to raise just over R47 000, with final figures from other participating gyms still coming in.

This far surpasses the figures from their last Burpees4Babies challenge in March, where they raised R30 000.

“We have extended the challenge dates so facilities can still take part over the weekend of July 1st and 2nd,” said Pulse’s Dina Crichton.

All told, the participants at Pulse completed a whopping 7400 burpees, with Dina Crichton and Kirsty Hodgson managing 1000 each, while eight-year-old Moya Steer wowed everyone by finishing 530.
