Farming ‘God’s way’
Accredited trainer and internationally acclaimed Farming God's Way expert Grant Dryden will be giving a workshop at All Souls Anglican Church in Sheffield
Learning how to take care of the earth we have been given to farm by the Lord is the first step towards creating a sustainable future.
This is according to the ‘Farming God’s Way’ philosophy, on which a workshop will be held next week on September 26-28 at All Souls Anglican Church in Sheffield.
The workshop will cost R120 per person starting at 8.30am for 9am until 4pm (includes tea/coffee and lunch).
“Join us and learn about the amazing methods that will equip you to get more out of your crop,” said Denis Fortune, the local Farming God’s Way facilitator.
Accredited trainer and internationally acclaimed Farming God’s Way expert Grant Dryden will be giving the workshop.
Fortune appealed to all those involved in the agricultural sector to join them.
“If you cannot make it personally, sponsor a rural or subsistence farmer as they too could get a lot of value out of the workshop.”
Farming God’s Way’s mission is to break the yoke of poverty through sustainable, natural farming methods. It has a track record of success all over the world since its beginnings in 1984 in Zimbabwe and is held up as a solution to food security and income in both developed and developing countries.
“We believe in an almost spiritual approach to farming. It should not just be about the technology but about balanced, biblical techniques to equip both commercial and subsistence farmers to make the most of what God has put in our hands – farming should reveal the fullness of His abundant life.”

Farming God’s Way operates on three basic principles, namely: following natural rhythms, maintaining high standards and ensuring minimum wastage.
“Since we started Farming God’s Way at All Souls 11 months ago, we are now making R8000 a month off of less than half a hectare. If we can get the right people involved, this could turn the country around.”
If you are interested in attending the workshop, make a payment into their bank account: FNB Ballito, Parish of Umhlali, account 53730108701 with the reference FGW workshop and send your proof of payment through to pastoral@allsouls.co.za. Fortune also appealed to the community to drop off garden waste in the form of leaves and grass (not twigs/weeds) in front of All Souls to be used for mulch and compost.
“God is the master farmer and he has been farming this way since the beginning.”
