With the festive season fast approaching, police have warned people to be wary of cyber scammers out to make a quick buck.

Disgruntled KwaDukuza municipal staff have called for the immediate removal of corrupt officials and even shouted their demands outside the council chamber recently.
This comes after it was discovered in September that two contracts costing KDM R1.8 million were both signed off for the same printing service while the municipal manager, Nhlanhla Mdakane, was on leave.

Recently released crime statistics paint a grim picture of the North Coast, showing a rise in carjackings and house robbery in most areas.
This information was revealed in the national crime statistics report, released by police minister Fikile Mbalula in parliament recently.

Pilot on the mend after microlight accident

The pilot and passenger of a microlight that crashed near Groutville on Sunday afternoon are both on the mend following the accident.
Although conditions were clear, the pilot, who is from the North Coast, experienced difficulties while trying to land due to a freak microburst of wind.
