R20 million library for Maphumulo
Maphumulo was the only area in the Ilembe region that did not have a library.
Maphumulo residents were recently thrilled with joy as the first library was opened on Tuesday, November 21.
The R20 million library was officially handed over to the Maphumulo Municipality by arts and culture MEC, Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi. Maphumulo residents used to travel to KwaDukuza whenever they needed to use a library and now that they have a library, they will be able to save money and time.
Maphumulo was the only area in the Ilembe region that did not have a library.
The library has been equipped with free internet and other modern technologies designed to assist school pupils.
“I am certain that the resources you will find in this library will help a lot. Books on business development, health, philosophy, science and technology, parenting and many others will also be stocked as time goes on,” said Maphumulo municipality mayor Zibuyisile Khuzwayo-Dlamini.
