In with the new at Zimbali

Hundreds of guests celebrated the glamorous unveiling of not one, but two additions to the Zimbali family – the new Zimbali Lakes Resort and Fairmont Zimbali conference centre.
Covering 300 hectares, the mixed-use Zimbali Lakes development is set to offer over 2700 residential opportunities and will be developed by Kuwait’s IFA Hotels & Resorts over the next decade.
The pet-friendly resort will include multi-general, mixed-use offerings to cater to the needs of a wide range of buyers.
“Zimbali has already set the benchmark for estate living internationally, and Zimbali Lakes Resort will undoubtedly deliver on the same success. In line with the brand’s ethos to live in harmony with nature, a significant differentiator for Zimbali Lakes Resort is the magnificent lake and all the unique activities that it will offer to residents,” said IFA senior vice president operations, Phil De Sylva at the launch last week.
Key to the success of the resort will be an array of amenities, including a new 18-hole championship design golf course, sporting facilities and routes to accommodate mountain bikers and runners.

The signature feature from which the resort gets its name is the 30-hectare lake that is to be created adjacent to the uTongaati River, providing recreational water sports opportunities and significantly enhancing views from the surrounding real estate.
The estate is between the M4 and the N2, with the river the southern boundary.
Zimbali lakes will offer 650 residential units and a 750 unit retirement village while Zimbali resort currently has 1200 units. Adding to the celebration, the Fairmont Zimbali Resort has become home to the largest state of the art conference centre on the North Coast.
It can accommodate 560 people. Uniquely designed to suit weddings as well as private and corporate functions, the venue is designed with stacking doors which allow the shape and size of the rooms to be changed quickly and easily. The Ballroom is also fitted with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and high-speed WIFI is provided throughout the conference centre.
The ceilings in each room of the conference centre are fitted with acoustic panels ensuring crystal clear sound and the reduction of ambient noise.
