UPDATE: Petrol price to increase by 71 cents tonight
The adjustment of fuel prices will be effective from Wednesday, December 6.

Motorists will once again have to fork out extra money for fuel after another petrol price increase was confirmed by the Department of Energy.
Based on current local and international factors, the fuel prices for December 2017 will be adjusted as follows:
- Petrol (93 Octane, ULP and LRP): 71 c/l increase;
- Petrol (95 Octane, ULP and LRP): 71 c/l increase;
- Diesel (0.05% sulphur): 60.30 c/l increase;
- Diesel (0.005% sulphur): 57.30 c/l increase;
- Illuminating Paraffin (wholesale): 73.30 c/l increase;
- SMNRP for IP: 98 c/l increase;
- Maximum LPGas Retail Price: 204 c/kg increase.
The main reasons for the fuel price adjustments are reportedly due to the contribution of the Rand/US Dollar exchange rate, the increase in the prices of crude oil and the annual margins adjustment.
