Bringing joy to the party in Seatides
The children enjoyed singing, dancing and playing games with Santa for the day.
More than 400 children from the Seatides informal settlement filled the air at Genazzano Road in Seatides with laughter as they flocked in and out of Vendata Institute for their annual party on Sunday.
The institute has been hosting parties for the underprivileged children since 1999 and they plan to go bigger every year.

“Each year we approach sponsors for goodie bags for the children. We always try to ensure that there will be stationery that will help them when school opens next year,” said event coordinator, Logie Pandaram.
The children enjoyed singing, dancing and playing games with Ruene Ramghulam, who was Santa for the day.
Seatides informal settlement resident Nomusa Gumede said the children always look forward to the event.
“They practice their songs and dances to perform at the party well ahead of the party. It is always a day that brings joy to the children in our community.”
