The first thing you need to check before you leave is your vehicle.

  • Make sure that everything is in working order when it comes to your brakes, engine oil, tyres, lights and indicators. Do not forget to check your wiper blades, because bad weather is always around the corner.
  • On the journey, make sure you have plenty of water to keep your body hydrated and make regular stops at service stations where you can stretch your legs and have a break from the road.
  • Always be relaxed and confident on the road, and make sure you have enough sleep the night before embarking on your journey.
  • Obey all the road rules while travelling and always stick to the speed limit.
  • Plan ahead when it comes to the route you will be taking so that you know exactly where you’re going, and make sure you are prepared for dangers and delays on the road.
  • Wear your seat belt at all times and do not use your cell-phone while driving, as this can distract you.

These tips can help you have a safe trip with your family this festive season.
