Rotary is selling about 250 trees from a tent on Stewart Drive, Ballito.

Christmas magic and tree hugs were the order of the week at the Rotary Club of Zimbali’s annual tree stand that saw families taking their pick of freshly cut Christmas trees – and all for a good cause.

While families had fun picking out their tree and planning how they would decorate it, the money spent at the stand helped make a difference to the lives of underprivileged people in Ilembe.

Zimbali Rotary club president Kosh Thaver said the fund will be donated to the club’s charities which include school education and Brite Eyes Cataract Surgery Camp that has helped give sight and a renewed life to patients who were not in a position to afford surgery.

“The sales are doing extremely well. We ordered 120 trees and all have been sold out, so we ordered another 135 trees.”
