Spreading the love this Christmas

The items will be donated to seven NGO's supported by the Orphan Fund.

Vulnerable children and families on the North Coast will celebrate Christmas with a smile after more than 1000 items, including food, books and gifts, were donated to the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund‘s Christmas Campaign.

The drive that began on December 4 aimed to collect non-perishable food and other items that would make Christmas a little brighter for the orphaned and vulnerable on the North Coast. Boxes were placed at numerous collection points.

The children from Sheffield Pre Primary school opened their hearts in support of the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund Chrismas campaign.

The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund fundraising coordinator June Mdolo said organisations and residents donated 1000 items including more than 250 gift-wrapped presents and R5000.

“In a short space of time there was a heartwarming response from the public to the Orphan Fund Christmas collection campaign. We are very humbled and ever grateful.

“Ashton International College Ballito donated R5000, Crawford College North Coast donated gifts and canned food, Sheffield Pre Primary donated clothing and books, Tiffany’s Superspar donated toys, Lifestyle Superspar donated gifts and non-perishable food, the Umhlali Bowling Club donated gifts, Seeff Dolphin Coast donated non-perishables and gifts and one family donated gifts and non-perishable items. The mammoth task of sorting and allocating the items was made easy by Ballito resident Tanya Parkins.”

The items will be donated to seven NGO’s supported by the Orphan Fund.

Families at the St Phillips HIV/AIDS Ministry and Outreach in Shakaville received groceries and Christmas presents.
